Apple Danish

Danish, close

Apple Danish: Up Close

We were given a number of apples from a friend’s tree, so I’ve been looking at recipes to use them. I decided to try out this Apple Danish recipe, with a few adjustments.

Although I divided the recipe in half, I used the full amount (or more) of apples. We decided that it still wasn’t enough.

I also did not follow the directions on how to put the apple-mixture in the dough. The recipe calls for something shaped more like cinnamon rolls, but I decided instead to make one giant woven danish.

I’ll need a bit more practice to achieve a better weave, but I was still complimented on appearance. Furthermore, it would be helpful to place the rolled dough on the baking sheet before adding the apple-mixture. I had difficulty transporting the danish from cutting board to baking sheet due to its size.

As far as taste goes, I’ll merely mention that my plans to have some of it left for breakfast today did not work out. The entire thing is gone.
